Amputee Coalition Partners with Caringbridge

Eagan, Minn. (Aug. 31, 2011) —

The Amputee Coalition announced a partnership with CaringBridge. CaringBridge provides free websites that connect people experiencing a significant health challenge to family and friends, making each health journey easier. Powered by generous donors, CaringBridge websites offer a personal and private space to communicate and show support, saving time and emotional energy when health matters most.

"Partnering with CaringBridge adds an important benefit to our support system," said Kendra Calhoun, president and CEO of the Amputee Coalition. "We strive to provide the best resources and information for the 2 million Americans who live with limb loss and CaringBridge fits perfectly with that mission. These people are often affected by multiple surgeries, and often spend prolonged periods of time in the hospital. CaringBridge will provide them with a communications tool for their friends and families."

Founded in 1997, more than 273,000 CaringBridge websites have been created, generating more than half-a-million daily visits. The CaringBridge community includes authors, visitors and donors in all 50 states and more than 225 countries and territories.
