Welcome to Jared's webpage. Jared is fighting Neuroblastoma.

Jared was diagnosed with stage IV on July 4, 2003. He was N-myc amplified with poor shimada. His whole body had tumors, along with 95% of his bone marrow. He had a surgery to remove part of the primary tumor immediately, and then started chemo the following week. He went through 6 rounds of various chemos before having his adrenal gland removed on Nov 17th of 2003. Right before Christmas, we entered Devos childrens Hospital for a stem cell transplant. Due to removal of 2 lines, his transplant took place on Dec 27th. We went home at the end of January and started 12 rounds of radiation the beginning of February, 2004. In March, he started the ch.14.18 antibody treatment, which was completed in August. In September he relapsed in his right mandible. He endured 4 more rounds of chemo and we headed to New York for possible treatment. They had nothing for him, as he was NED again!! He has been on accutane ever since, and will continue indefinitely.

Thursday, October 2, 2008 10:14 AM CDT Where do I begin??? things are going great. No news on the liver tumors..long story that is frustrating. Jared is in second grade and doing great. Happy, healthy, smart and in no pain. Therefore I have avoided the doctors for a while. He had two surgeries this summer and they could not get to any of the tumors to biopsy. Im going to avoid any more as long as he is feeling well. I know, not a smart choice, but the only one available without harming him more. Life is good..busy..fun...We live day by day, loving every moment..until the tumors overtake our lives..which may never happen???
