Welcome to Sami's Page!
Now over 3 years post transplant (Bone Marrow)
Sami Petrucciani is a bright, loving and energetic 14 year old. She was diagnosed with AML on January 9, 2005 and completed her bone marrow transplant on May 13, 2005. Her hero dad was her donor!
HOME SWEET HOME
Sami is now in school full time after recovering at home. She's had 5 trips to the hospital since her transplant, but she has battled through them to be back with her family. She's getting more and more energetic every day. Thanks for your thoughts and prayers!
Sami is on the right side of the photo above with little sister Lexi.
We thank you for your continued support and prayers!

Today's thought "Sami is back from camp!!"
OK ... no news is good news. We keep praying for BIG (Boring Is Good).
It's been a long time since I posted for Sami, and I know the traffic is way down, but I thought I owed you an update.
Sami has been doing well ... she still has supplements to take, but no medicine or treatments. She recently enjoyed her graduation party from the Hutson school for 7th grade. She ran around with her friends at Ben & Ari's.
I dropped her in Atlanta last Sunday on my way to meetings in Orlando. She went to a camp that our friend, Merrill King - you've heard about her from this site, introduced us to. It's called Camp Sunshine - it is a camp for cancer kids. They have a couple of hundred kids and a ton of volunteers. The kids can't take iPods, cell phones, computers, etc. They have hundreds of activities, and Sami enjoyed every minute. Her favorite part of camp was getting to finally meet and hang out with Merrill. She spent time riding horses, swimming, yoga, cooking, gardening, and even attended a "prom".
Merrill's dad, Pat, was a real help and picked Sami up from camp yesterday, and took her to the airport and escorted her through security, took her for lunch, and bought her snacks. He waited until (after a lengthly delay) her plane actually left the gate. Sami says she really likes Mr. King!
Outside of that, Grandpa Chuck is doing well from his November procedure, and he is looking to get some smaller aneurysms taken care of in the near future.
Mommy is on the home stretch in her career as a Lawrence Township Scool Board member (she's President this year). Her last day is June 30 (I think). She decided not to rerun, but to help her friend Carol Helmus get elected to take over her position.
Mommy has also started a job (yes, a job outside of the home). She is building her client base using her degree (ND - Doctor of Naturopathy). She is working out of Dr. Kevin Logan's office - Dr. Logan has been Sami's doctor for about 4 years.
Cobi is attending a summer school class in preparation for his first year in High School in August.
Lexi and QQ are attending a performance arts class to learn percussion (we need two drummers in the house to "add" to the noice level).
The kids are on the swim team again this summer, but Sami has decided not to compete - she would rather help with the running/management of the swim meet.
Daddy continues to travel for work, and work has been running fairly smoothly for the last 6 months or so. He does find time for the occassional golf tournament (or friendly game with a small wager).
I'll see if I can't get some pictures loaded to the site soon so you can get a look at Sami in her latest styles.
TTYL ...
PS Our friend, Merrill King, who led us on the path thru chemo and the bone marrow transplant, has hit a bump in the road. Please check on her using the link on Sami's home page, AND add her to your prayer list - Thanks!
