LAST CHEMO DAY - APRIL 28, 2006!!!!

Cammie was diagnosed with Leukemia (ALL) on September 24, 2002. She began the Maintenance phase of her treatment in June of 2003 and was due to end treatment in November of 2004...however, that is not the way that things worked out. On March 10, 2004, the day after her 3rd Birthday, Camryn's doctor called and gave me the horrible news that she had relapsed and we would be starting all over again.

These Are DaysThese are days you’ll remember.
Never before and never since, I promise, will the whole world be warm as this.
And as you feel it, you’ll know it’s true that you are blessed and lucky.
It’s true that you are touched by something that will grow and bloom in you.
These are days you’ll remember.
When may is rushing over you with desire to be part of the miracles you see in every hour.
You’ll know it’s true that you are blessed and lucky.
It’s true that you are touched by something that will grow and bloom in you.
These are days.
These are the days you might fill with laughter until you break.
These days you might feel a shaft of light make it’s way across your face.
And when you do you’ll know how it was meant to be.
See the signs and know their meaning.
It’s true, you’ll know how it was meant to be.
Hear the signs and know they’re speaking to you, to you.

Hi again. Long time, no writing. I've been kind of hiding out in my own little world lately. I did finally decide that maybe I should do some kind of counseling...I happened upon a grief counseling group and so far, it has been really helpful for me. The days are still extremely rough and I am so sad...I wish so much that this horrible heart breaking feeling would, if not just go away, just subside a bit...but, I have learned that as long as you feel...you are still alive. Sounds crazy, but in all of these years, I have found that to be so true.

We got word that my brother's headstone has been placed and I will be going to Ft. Sill in October to make sure that there are flowers...I know this is going to be hard, but I need to go. While I am there, I will be going to see his Department and most of all, I will be going to see the guy that he worked with every time they went on duty. He is really my only tie to my brother and what an amazing Police Officer he was. I am looking forward to seeing him. It's crazy but I really need to just see him and hug him and tell him that I appreciate him. He was my brother's best friend...they covered each other's back...they took care of one another and I can't wait to see him again.

And...in other world news....

Camryn is doing wonderfully in First Grade! I am so proud of her. I walk her to school each morning and I look forward to the conversations that we have. She gets up each day with the BIGGEST smile on her face...she loves going to school everyday (EXCEPT FRIDAYS...that is when she has Chinese and she absolutely HATES that class. Her teacher is mean and she dreads going on Fridays. Other than that, everything is great!) We have the best walks and I love every single second with her. She is going to a tutor on Wednesdays just so she can stay on track with everything that is going on with school. She has worked so hard and tried to keep up, I do not want her to fall behind. Her tutor is also the lady that was her Kindergarten teacher...so, she adores going on Wednesdays. That helps. She can not wait to be there and she does so well. I am a proud mom! haha...big shocker there!

On Friday, she will be testing for her yellow belt in Tae Kwon Do!!! Wow! She will also be doing board breaking at the demo in October! I hope to have pictures to put up to show how amazing she is doing! She LOVES Tae Kwon Do and that class has been great for her in so many ways!

And...that is all from us for now. Thank you so much for continuing to check on us. AND...to Tommy's mom, if you read this, I tried to e-mail you and it wouldn't go. I just wanted to thank you for your message and wanted to check on Tommy and all of you. If you see this, please e-mail me.

Thanks to all of you again!!!

Lots of love...

Alicia and the Crew!
