Prayers and bearhugs Love, Marci The Prayer bears http://www.freewebs.com/prayerbears ![]() Marci Connell <mac093@bellsouth.net> Charleston, Sc 29414 - Wednesday, November 26, 2008 7:07 PM CST Dear Wanda, I wanted to e-mail you and let you know I'am thinking about you and your entire family during Nathan's illness. I know God will take care of all of you during your hard times. I wish I was there to give you a BIG hug. All my love and prayers to you. Sincerley Deanne Johnson and family. deanne johnson <deannemjo@hotmail.com> melbourne, florida - Tuesday, November 4, 2008 11:50 AM CST Hi Travis! My little boy is 8. He and I cleaned his room and found some really cool toys that he hadn't played with in a long time! Do you ever find toys that you forgot about? It's so much fun to play with them again. My mom had a brain tumor. She had surgery and a doctor removed it. Before her surgery, my family had a party and we all took turns shaving my mom's head so she'd be ready for surgery in the morning. We laughed and took pictures but inside our hearts we were very worried and scared. The next day was my birthday. I was 30 years old. My mom teased me that she was ruining my birthday! But she gave me a great present when she recovered from surgery. She healed slowly and had a HUGE scar on her head. She also has metal in her skull to replace the bone. Wow. I asked her if she wanted to pretend that she became a superhero because her metal plate in the skull and the fact she survived a serious surgery and illness....I said we could call her RecoveryGirl, or TumorBuster, but she thought that being a Grandma was enough work for her. Besides, we all know that once you become a superhero you have to have a secret identity so no one can bother you when you are off duty....superheros want to sleep in and be lazy too. My mom didn't want a secret identity. I think she was just too lazy!!! Five years later, my mom got sick again. This time with cancer. Melanoma cancer that got inside her body. This cancer tried to take over but my mom got special treatment in Texas (from doctors, not from cowboys). The doctors at MD Anderson Clinic in Houston gave her some SERIOUSLY tough bio chemotherapy. She lost all her hair again!!! We didn't have a party this time; she was too weak. She was able to have a FREE haircut from a volunteer that helps cancer patients. It turns out that there are a lot of people that help when you are sick. My mom was given a few free hats, too. She teased me once and said, "See, all you have to do is have cancer and you can have these lovely hats!". I would never, ever want to have cancer. But if I did, I would talk to my mom and try to meet guys like you. I would want to get ideas on how to be a good patient and how to not give up when everything is terrible. How do you do it? I bet it's not the free hats!!! So, as it turns out, my mom is a superhero....just not the kinda that wears a funny uniform and has really cool powers. Sometimes I think about it...I start to daydream and think about her as a real superhero.....and then I imagine "She defeated the ultimate villian, Canceronomous! With her special healing powers and will to live it was only a matter of time before the hidden sickness was discovered and shrunkified"!! If I could have a superpower; I think I'd pick to be invisible. What about you? Your new friend, amy frank Peoria, IL Amy Frank <uranusisbig@comcast.net> Peoria, IL United States - Friday, August 15, 2008 0:13 AM CDT Well Well Well Mr. Travisman!!!!! You are one in a million. I know that these are wonderful doctors and people who truly care and I want to assure you that our prayers are all going up for you everywhere. Never give up! Mike, Gail, Michael, James, & Devan Lore Gail Lore Carrier Mills, IL USA - Saturday, December 23, 2006 7:06 PM CST Hi Julie - I am not sure how often you read these updates, but I just had to share this with you. I am the person who loaned your family the excursion while you were here in Memphis. Anyways, I was at Mylissa and Marks last night for the December fellowship and I brought my mother so I could drive the excursion home to get it repaired next week - and my mother was going to drive my car home. Well the fellowship had it's own twist -- with the car accident at the end of the Horrocks driveway and then no electricity for the entire fellowship. . . As I was saying then I left the Horrocks --no regular headlights only brights, which I did not figure out till I was a mile from the Horrocks. My Mom was following me and as I was driving in our neighborhood just about 1/4 mile from my house, and out of the corner of my eye I saw a DEER come running from the woods toward the street- I slammed on my brakes and my mother was wondering what I was doing. The deer couldn't decide if it should run back to the woods or go across the street and just kept running along the road.-Needless to say, I waited until it decided to run back into the woods, before I continued driving home. - I just didn't want to have anymore dead Bambi stories! We are still laughing about it this afternoon. Just wanted you to know that we think that the excursion is a deer magnet. Well, I hope your drive home was not near as eventfull as your last week in Memphis. Have a Merry Christmas. My heart goes out to the strong mothers who have to deal with difficult situations that are imposed upon them today. There is a fruit call Noni that is literally helping to heal people with cancers, tumors, heart disease etc. I urge you to do the research on TAHITIAN NONI JUICE. Ther are many noni juices but only one aurthentic kind that has no perservatives in it. Please, please do the research and find out the truth about this juice. You can also read peoples testimonies. Noni juice is sweeping the country. The site is tahitiannoni.com- It's very safe because it is natural. Then get in touch with a noni distributor and let them show you proof. Please let me know what YOU think. I've always believed an ounce of precaution IS worth a pound of CURE. This juice is also backed up by doctors-PLEASE READ. And May Your Prays Be Answered. Love your girl and guy, Marilyn and Aaron(Spidey) <www.caringbridge.org/il/aarondhunter or stjudemomma74@aol.com> Peoria, IL USA - Tuesday, June 29, 2004 9:43 PM CDT I came upon your site as I was previewing other BellSouth personal homepages to get some ideas for my own. Your story is amazing and I wish you all the best! I will add your family to my prayers. It just so happens that I too stayed the the Ronald McDonald House when my son, now 2 and 1/2, was born pre-mature and had to be sent to another hospital just over an hour from our home. I am pleased to say he is doing just fine now, but the people I met while staying there (just over a month) certainly provided much needed support through our difficult time. I admire your courage and sincerely hope your future is bright. Above all, remember that although life may seem unfair at times, and our faith questioned, God would never allow us to experience that which we could not handle. No matter what the future holds, hang on to the belief that he has a devine plan. It appears that your story has touched so many lives thus far. I will add your site to my favorites so I can keep updated. I wish you all well. Your older children seem strong. You should be so proud! Just writting to say I have looked at Travis' page and he is a little fighter. I think he has his dads stubborn streak in him somewhere. I met Kev a long time ago in chat and he has always been considerate of others and a real sweetheart and has that same smile Travis has. I dont mean to talk only of Kev but he is the only one I have known. Juls I have just met you and you seem strong and sweet. I see that in Travis' pics also. I know he is a fighter because of the parents he has and the love you all have for him gives him that strenght. I must say you are the blessed ones to have such a special boy to love and guide threw this and your love and strenght is doing just that getting him threw and over it. There are things in life that happen and we dont know why but they do happen for a reason. Who knows when Travisman gets older he might just be head of the board at St Judes or one of the wonderful helping hospitals for kids.
