Welcome to Matt's Web Page!

Matthew is nine years old and on November 22, 2002, we got devastating news that Matt has Stage IV Neuroblastoma(at age 4 and a half). The tumors filled his abdomen, which spread to his neck, skull, thigh and his bone marrow lining. The biology of his particular cancer had all the unfavorable prognostic indicators and he was given awful odds of 20% chance of survival.

Since diagnosis, Matt has amazed us all with his courage and spirit, as he has gone through many rounds of high dose chemotherapy, surgeries, 2 stem cell (bone marrow) transplants, 10 days of radiation, antibody treatments and a year of Accutane. Today he currently NED(no evidence of disease). Unfortunately, the relapse rate of this disease is very high and currently there is no cure.
Please keep our family in your thoughts and prayers that Matt remains cancer free.
To our friends and family far and near, thank you for all of your love and support. We hope to update weekly to let you all know how Matt is doing.

Tonight Matthew had his third baseball game. Matt's big play of the game was when he hit a ball past the third baseman and got a 2 run RBI!!! He played centerfield, catcher and first baseman today. He had some good plays and is a joy to see play. Nana nad Grandpa came out tonight!! He is a fighter...and doesn't give up and gives it his all...he gives it a 150% They played the Red Sox and they ended up losing 13- 11:(

He has another game on Sat and Sun, hoping they can win at least one of them, great if its both. I hope to remember my camera for one of the games so you can see him as a TWIN.

Also we have our annual KIDS STRIKE OUT CANCER MAY 4th(Sun)at CHANNAHON LANES in CHANNAHON at 1pm. PLEASE come if your kids want to have a FUN time and it benefits the AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY MATT'S PIT CREW RELAY FOR LIFE TEAM! For more info or directions email me at michaelcorse@sbcglobal.net
