Baby Will

Welcome to our Will's Web Page. It has been provided to keep people updated about our little one. Now that he is older and doing so well we hope that it serves to reinforce hope for those parents who have a child with brain injury know that miracles can happen!

Howard Todd Willson

Born: May 17, 2004; 8:15 AM

Weight: 4 lbs. 6 oz. Length: 18 inches

We welcomed our little man into this world on May 17, 2004 at 8:15 AM. He was 9 weeks too early. We were very thankful to God when he arrived breathing on his own. Our hearts fell a bit when it became clear he needed more help and would face some obstacles in his fight for life... he went on a ventilator 3 hours after being born. He has been fighting ever since. He has had 3 chest tubes to support his collapsing lungs.

Now he needs prayers for a Grade III IVH that has led to complications including Post-hemorrhagic Hydrocephalus (PHH) and brain surgery to implant a shunt. He will have the shunt forever. Sadly, our Little Baby Will has more brain surgeries ahead of him... and has already needed another surgery due to shunt failure. Please join us in praying for him to stay strong.

Happy 4th Birthday, Will!

Yes, our Little man has reached his 4th birthday!!!

We can hardly believe it. The miracle continues and this little fighter is now running around with the ther kids at preschool without anyone having any idea that he entered this world with such drama.

Aside from a few seizures, which we can deal with, he has progressed along so well that we actually find ourselves forgetting that he even has a shunt - or anything atypical.

We celebrated the ig day in NJ with our family... most importantly, Will's cousins Finn and Marin who turned 1 on May 17th as well. Will has 2 special little people to share his day with now! He was so excited to get his CARS cake and blow out his candles. The look of glee and pride on his face was pricelss as everyone was singing. He was even more excited that the little people behind him were eating their very first birthday cakes. What a great day!

We continue to thank all of your for your love and prayers. We never forget that without all of your loving prayers this could have ended much differently.

Mary Kay, Todd, Ashley, Mary Blakely and of course, our Will.

XOXOX
