Organization Summary
CaringBridge is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization offering free personalized websites to those wishing to stay in touch with family and friends during a significant health challenge. Our mission is to amplify the love, hope and compassion in the world, making each health journey easier.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Supports the definition of individual giving programs that engage donors with CaringBridge.
- Oversees CB’s new virtual peer to peer fundraising program that includes: active events, third party events celebration giving .
- Oversees direction of CaringBridge Direct Mail Program.
- Carries out effective fundraising strategies to ensure organizational goals are met for building upon donor loyalty both online and offline.
- Collaborates with Individual Giving Team on major fundraising campaigns and appeals for Year End and Annual Fund Giving. Collaborates with Individual Giving Team in the development of giving channels/ opportunities within the organization.
- Serves as part of the individual giving team and represents programs to other CaringBridge departments to ensure that fund development goals are met and strategies are implemented (i.e. Marketing & Outreach, Technology, Finance & Administration and Program).
- Provides recommendations on course of action based on the performance of fund development strategies through analysis of data, research and understanding of CaringBridge donors, their behavior, demographics and trends.
- Tracks, monitors and reports performance of programs against budgets
- Maintains a current understanding of the marketplace including industry trends and best practices as it relates to online fundraising stewardship, communications and engagement.
- Nurtures a culture of philanthropy for reflecting the core values of CaringBridge; for treating donors and volunteers with respect; and for complying with the highest standards for ethical fundraising.
- Establishes and sustains interactive relationships with internal contacts and external contacts to result in favorable networks to support the current and future goals of the organization and to benchmark practices/results to maximize organizational effectiveness.
- Keeps manager informed of important developments, potential problems, and related information necessary for effective management. Coordinates/communicates plans and activities with others, as appropriate to ensure a coordinated work effort and team approach.
- Performs related work as apparent or assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in fund development or related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in fund development or position of similar responsibilities.
- Proven track record of managing successful fundraising campaigns.
- Experience with Peer to Peer Fundraising, event fundraising or annual fund preferred .
- Experience coordinating project team activities, identifying resources and developing project timelines.
- Self directed worker who can adapt to change in a fast paced environment
- Strong collaboration and teambuilding skills.
- Excellent organizational and planning skills.
- Excellent problem solving analysis and demonstrated leadership.
- Working knowledge of non-profit industry including best practices and emerging trends.
- Ability to cope with the rapid pace and constant change associated with the industry.
- Ability to successfully manage numerous projects simultaneously.
- Thorough knowledge of Microsoft applications and knowledge of online fundraising platforms – experience with Convio preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with personnel and outside contacts.
