Vanessa's Journey of Hope

Welcome to Vanessa Wittmer's Web Page!
It has been created to keep our friends and family updated about Vanessa's progress in fighting Leukemia.

On October 13, 2003, Vanessa Rose was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) at Children's Hopsital Oakland.

On January 19, 2006, Vanessa's doctors gave her the good news that she is in REMISSION! Two years and 2 months of chemotherapy paid off! Now that she is 18 months into remission her clinic protocols have changed from monthly to every other month blood draws and oncology clinic visits. As soon as she hits the 5 year mark of being in remission she will officially be considered CURED! She is the most amazing survivor I know!

Please visit our page often as I will use this site to blog her progress and my training with TNT. PEACE!

Hi People!

I love summer vacation! I have been to Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, soccer camp, the movies, the pool, waterslides and that was just in JUNE! This week I am away at camp with Salina. We are at a camp called St. Dorothy’s Rest in Occidental and we LOVE it up here! You can send us email at sdr@monitor.net (just put our names in the subject line) and they will deliver it to us at “mail call”. We love to get mail at camp!

We’ll be back on Saturday the 14th and my mommy said we’ll be going to the picnic that TNT Mentor’s Chris & Meenu are hosting on Sunday. Next week Salina & I will be home relaxing with our artistic babysitter. She is drawing the coolest fairy scene for our room that we’ll be water coloring with her when it’s done. She is amazing!
I have a lot more going on this summer, but you’ll just have to wait for the next update to hear all about it!

Happy Summer!
Vanessa, Salina & Trish

PS: My mommy did her race in Alaska and the pictures are really cool. She was bummed she didn’t see a moose, but she did bring us back a bunch of cool moose souvenirs instead!
