Journal

It seems like it has been forever since I updated this journal - I have really been neglecting this page -sorry!!
Mason is now 5 1/2 years old, he is doing really well. Thus far we have stayed pretty healthy through this cold and flu season (knock on wood). Mason is currently in kindergarten. He has a wonderful home school teacher who comes twice weekly for several hours each visit. Mason cannot attend traditional school as he is very susceptible to illness and always gets sick around groups of other kids. It seems like what would be a routine illness for other kids lands Mason in the ICU. We do goto the school for outside social activities. Mason also receives in home speech, PT and OT. Although Mason does have some speech (Mommy and Daddy can fully understand his needs), we are in the process of obtaining an augementative communication device for him. Mason loves going for walks in his wheelchair, going on trips in the van (even more fun for him since we had a DVD player installed), watching The Backyardigans, The Wiggles and Blues Clues. He is such a good singer, he loves music and will sing along with any and all. Right now he and Daddy are "enjoying?" another season of American Idol. I will be adding new pictures to this page soon. Hope you are all well.
