Sunday, February 24, 2008 9:22 AM CST Dear Family and Friends,
It has been said that “time heals all things”. But we must also remember that the passage of time is earmarked with milestones of what was or might have been. This sums up our feelings on this fourth anniversary of losing Clayton. This would have been a milestone year for Clayton because he would have entered Kindergarten for the 2007 – 2008 school year. We wonder what might have been and how our lives would be different. Such mixed emotions have floated in and out everyday. Our hearts are sad and yet we have so many things to be thankful for. God has blessed us in his way with Mary Clayton’s humor. Whenever Clayton’s name is mentioned she politely reminds us, “I am not Clayton, I’m Mary Clayton Cooper”.
As you all know the Cooper Family is always in constant motion and the 2007 - 2008 school year is no exception! Todd accepted a position with JRD Contracting Company as a Foreman in July of 2007. Mary Shannon stays busy teaching school, gymnastics and cheerleading.
Cameron is in the Third Grade and is very involved with Gymnastics and Cheerleading. This keeps us on the road several nights a week which is now a familiar routine for the family. Cameron continues to excel in gymnastics as well as her academic endeavors. We are extremely proud of what she is becoming.
Mary Clayton at 2½ has not stopped all year. She still enjoys the comfort of her paci and blanket as well as her old pal Barney. She loves to dance, do gymnastics, color and sing. She has blessed our house with her favorite songs which are Jesus Loves Me, ABC’s, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. It is such a delight to watch her grow!
Thanks to all of you who continue to sign the guestbook!. We really appreciate the kind words of encouragement!
The Coopers Todd, Mary Shannon, Cameron & Mary Clayton
